What inspired this book?
The book was inspired by my love of comic books, but also the darker emotional undercurrents that come with being human—grief, identity, and healing. I wanted to write a story that felt like a dream and a coming-of-age battle all at once.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I’ve always had a vivid imagination, but I didn’t truly believe I could be a writer until I started publishing essays and poems on blogs and literary sites. Once I saw how words could connect with people, I knew I had to keep going.
How long does it take you to write a book?
It depends. Some stories come like lightning, others take their time. On average, it’s several months of writing, revising, and reflecting. I try to write with purpose—not just speed.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?
My first book came out recently through TWB Press, but the writing process began long before that—in my twenties. I was journaling, crafting stories, and dreaming big.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I enjoy exploring the city I’m from—New York has a rhythm that inspires me. I also love meaningful conversations, good music, and anything that feeds the creative spirit.
What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?
While romance isn’t the center of The Greatest Comic Book Tale Ever Told, there is emotional connection. My characters are drawn to each other’s strength and emotional vulnerability—they see the pain and beauty in one another.
How did you ‘get to know’ your main characters? Did they ever surprise you?
Absolutely. Sonny Forever, the protagonist, evolved as I wrote him. He started off as a dreamer, but what surprised me was how much pain he carried—and how he turned it into strength. Writing him helped me understand parts of myself too.
What was your favorite scene to write?
One of my favorite scenes is when Sonny realizes the comic book world he’s in is actually part of a larger design—and he begins to question everything. That moment of awakening was powerful to explore.
What was the most difficult scene to write?
There’s a scene where Sonny confronts the loss of someone close to him. Writing grief authentically—without making it cliché—is hard. But I had to go there emotionally to make it real.
Would you say this book showcases your writing style or is it a departure for you?
It definitely showcases my style: emotionally layered, surreal at times, grounded in truth. Both of my books reflect how I blend imagination with the real inner work of healing.
What do you want people to take away from reading this book?
That they’re not alone. That even in our darkest moments, there’s meaning. And that creativity, hope, and courage are not just story elements—they’re survival tools.
What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have planned?
I’m working on more stories in the Tales from Lucid City universe. Each story is a window into someone’s emotional world, wrapped in surreal, dreamlike storytelling. I also have more short stories and personal essays on the way.
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I always wanted to create. I didn’t know exactly what that would look like, but I knew I had stories in me. Becoming a published author—especially with two books through a small press—has made that dream real.
