Top 10 Best It Ends With Us Quotes to Break the Cycle
It Ends With Us —– My first book of Colleen Hoover. And it could be one of the best books I read this year.
The book has won the Goodreads choice award of the year 2016. But I read it this year.
I should have read it before. But I can say that for many books.
I am assuming you have read the book, so I will just write some best It Ends with Us Quotes, and talk about it in general. No review.
But the most important question first.
Which flower is on the cover of the book?
Do tell me if you know.
It Ends With Us Quotes
There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.
All humans make mistakes. What determine a person’s character aren’t the mistakes we make. It is how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses.
I think that’s one of the biggest signs a person has matured—knowing how to appreciate things that matter to others, even if they don’t matter very much to you.
You’re the most important part of my life, Lily. I want to be what brings you happiness. Not what causes you to hurt.
You warned me. You said one time with you wouldn’t be enough. You said you were like a drug. But you failed to tell me you were the most addictive kind.
Do you have any idea how many doors I’ve knocked on to find you?
And when you love someone, seeing them sad also makes you sad.
I feel like everyone fakes who they really are, when deep down we’re all equal amounts of screwed up. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others.
HE PULLS BACK TO LOOK DOWN AT ME AND WHEN HE SEES MY TEARS, HE BRINGS HIS HANDS UP TO MY CHEEKS. “IN THE FUTURE . . . IF BY SOME MIRACLE YOU EVER FIND YOURSELF IN THE POSITION TO FALL IN LOVE AGAIN . . . FALL IN LOVE WITH ME.”

The Domestic Violence
I have never read a book on domestic violence that explain the phenomenon as clearly as this one.
When you read a paper, or something, that a person was in a tortured relationship for years, and then they came out. You think to yourself, “what took you so long?”
Were not you looking at the problem? The elephant in the room.
It Ends with Us take the reader on the journey of how a person becomes a victim of friendly abuse. And how a person could become so habitual to it that they stop looking the ugliness.
We all have a limit. What we’re willing to put up with before we break. When I married your father, I knew exactly what my limit was. But slowly . . . with every incident . . . my limit was pushed a little more. And a little more. The first time your father hit me, he was immediately sorry. He swore it would never happen again. The second time he hit me, he was even more sorry. The third time it happened, it was more than a hit. It was a beating. And every single time, I took him back. But the fourth time, it was only a slap. And when that happened, I felt relieved. I remember thinking, ‘At least he didn’t beat me this time. This wasn’t so bad.”
It’s a cycle. That goes on and on.
And it is hard to break.
Brave Lily Bloom
As the character tells:
Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern. Sometimes it seems easier to just keep running in the same familiar circles, rather than facing the fear of jumping and possibly not landing on your feet.
And you realize that you are in the same cycle. You like that abuser. A reader may see themselves making excuses for the acts the abuser was doing.
But the heroine is brave in the book.
She breaks the cycle.
As the Aestas say in her review:
Of all the heroines I’ve ever read, Lily was most certainly one of the ones I admired the most.
It Ends With Us Movie
Well regarding the It Ends with Us movie, the author has declined any project for now.
It Ends With Us is not becoming a movie. My instagram post is something else entirely, a whole different kind of project. 😉

There might be a movie going on.

- The Unspoken Truth
- What’s Love Got to do with It
- The Color Purple

But I wish if they ever make It Ends with us Movies, they cast Lily Collins.
Still, whom you think should be cast in the movie?
