Which flower is on the cover of the book?

Colleen Hoover Quotes

There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.

It Ends With Us

All humans make mistakes. What determine a person’s character aren’t the mistakes we make. It is how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses.

It Ends WIth Us Quotes by Colleen Hoover

I think that’s one of the biggest signs a person has matured—knowing how to appreciate things that matter to others, even if they don’t matter very much to you.

it ends with us quotes

You warned me. You said one time with you wouldn’t be enough. You said you were like a drug. But you failed to tell me you were the most addictive kind.

Do you have any idea how many doors I've knocked on to find you

Everyone is Fake Quotes

I feel like everyone fakes who they really are, when deep down we’re all equal amounts of screwed up. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others.

The Domestic Violence

I have never read a book on domestic violence that explain the phenomenon as clearly as this one.

When you read a paper, or something, that a person was in a tortured relationship for years, and then they came out. You think to yourself, “what took you so long?”

Were not you looking at the problem? The elephant in the room.

It Ends with Us take the reader on the journey of how a person becomes a victim of friendly abuse. And how a person could become so habitual to it that they stop looking the ugliness.

We all have a limit. What we’re willing to put up with before we break. When I married your father, I knew exactly what my limit was. But slowly . . . with every incident . . . my limit was pushed a little more. And a little more. The first time your father hit me, he was immediately sorry. He swore it would never happen again. The second time he hit me, he was even more sorry. The third time it happened, it was more than a hit. It was a beating. And every single time, I took him back. But the fourth time, it was only a slap. And when that happened, I felt relieved. I remember thinking, ‘At least he didn’t beat me this time. This wasn’t so bad.”

It’s a cycle. That goes on and on.

And it is hard to break.

Brave Lily Bloom

As the character tells:

Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern. Sometimes it seems easier to just keep running in the same familiar circles, rather than facing the fear of jumping and possibly not landing on your feet.

And you realize that you are in the same cycle. You like that abuser. A reader may see themselves making excuses for the acts the abuser was doing.

But the heroine is brave in the book.

She breaks the cycle.

As the Aestas say in her review:

Of all the heroines I’ve ever read, Lily was most certainly one of the ones I admired the most.

Which flower? I’m assuming it’s the purple lilies that Ryle first gave Lily (to congratulate her on opening her shop) and the broken petals symbolizes the end of their love.
