aankhen bhi hain rasta bhi charaghon ki ziya bhi
sab kuchh hai magar kuchh bhi sujhai nahin deta
ai dil-e-nadan kisi ka ruThna mat yaad kar
aan Tapkega koi aansu bhi is jhagDe ke bich
raat aai hai balaon se rihai degi
ab na diwar na zanjir dikhai degi
sochta hun ki bujha dun mein ye kamre ka diya
apne sae ko bhi kyun sath jagaun apne
jo hansna hansana hota hai
rone ko chhupana hota hai
aaina dekh zara kya main ghalat kahta hun
tu ne KHud se bhi koi baat chhupa rakkhi hai
aasman apne iradon mein magan hai lekin
aadmi apne KHayalat liye phirta hai
is waqt wahan kaun dhuan dekhne jae
aKHbar mein paDh lenge kahan aag lagi thi
aastinon ki chamak ne hamein mara ‘anwar’
hum to KHanjar ko bhi samjhe yad-e-baiza hoga
jaane kis rang se ruThegi tabiat us ki
jaane kis Dhang se ab us ko manana hoga
hamein qarina-e-ranjish kahan mayassar hai
hum apne bas mein jo hote tera gila karte
main apne dushmanon ka kis qadar mamnun hun ‘anwar’
ki un ke shar se kya kya KHair ke pahlu nikalte hain
main ne ‘anwar’ is liye bandhi kalai par ghaDi
waqt puchhenge kai mazdur bhi raste ke bich
piye jata tha ‘anwar’ aansuon ko
ajab us shaKHs ko chaska laga tha
sath us ke koi manzar koi pas-e-manzar na ho
is tarah main chahta hun us ko tanha dekhna
tujhe nahin hai abhi fursat-e-karam na sahi
thake nahin hain mere hath bhi dua karte
